Cottage Holiday Day Two

December 3, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

- Well House Donation

The Cottage is Hosting a Two-day Shopping Event!

Join us for gift shopping, refreshments & snacks, laughter & hugs, and, should you choose, a Chakra Assessment or Card Reading by resident intuitive Gayle.

In the Spirit of giving, the Cottage will be collecting cash donations to benefit Well House Grand Rapids, a housing first non-profit organization that seeks to provide low cost permanent housing for the homeless.

In addition to the handmade in-house and local Artisan items available daily at The Cottage, Moondrop Herbals will host two additional guest Artists each day to offer you even more beautiful locally made treasures.

Moondrop Herbals Cottage of Natural Elements

Discounts will be found throughout The Cottage on select items, including a 15% discount when you build your own bath, skin, or comfort care gift set. So! What’s new? New books, cards, calendars, journals, crystals, tapestries. New Synergy diffuser and roll- on pulse point blends. New herbal, green, black and red tea. And a new supply of organic chocolate by Theo.  If you haven’t seen the beautifully wrapped sun catchers made out of copper, crystals, drift wood, beach glass and other found objects by Sage & Roses you’re in for a real treat, these were a favorite customer gift purchase last year.  Also available for the season, new naturally scented soaps by The Natural Factory, including ‘Orange Brew’ which is made with mandarin essential oil and contains a Whitsun Ale by Arcadia Brewing Company. It has a beautiful scent, rich lather, and can be used as a shampoo. I’m currently working on a men’s line of items: Aromatica For Men, which is currently being tested out for review by a few good sports out there.  I’m not sure what I’ll throw together for refreshments – but there’s a good chance the magic tea pot will make a return appearance . . .

The Cottage will be open noon – 4pm.  Guest Artists will be available noon – 4pm

Sunday’s Line up includes:

Art As A Lifestyle | Designs by Maranda Shear

Visit artist Maranda Shear and her fun and always original gypsy style line of clothing featuring hand drawn artwork inspired by nature and mehndi design. You’ve seen her work at The Cottage, now you can meet the artist and see even more of her collection.  Find the perfect gift, order a custom portrait or even bring in a piece of clothing for her to custom design. Please Note: Custom work will not be done on site.  All clothing and accessory items are re-purposed and embellished with free hand drawn designs that are one of a kind.  Designs are created using a solution containing bleach, the colors that are revealed from this process, depends on fabric and dyes originally used. No additional colors or dyes are used. Maranda is a local artist and attended Kendall College of Art & Design.

The Dapper Haberdashery | Wendy Ballard

Dapper Haberdashery was founded on a rebellious spirit and a lofty objective: to create and offer both useful and beautiful handcrafted artifacts while reclaiming lost crafts at a revolutionary price as a socially and culturally conscious business. She believes that buying agendered jewelry, art, and beautiful useful artifacts should be easy and fun. It should leave you happy, maybe even Dapper, with an authentically charming personal style and some change left in your pocket.  Shown above are hand-shaped and hand-polished petoskey stone pendants and crystal tie clips placed on Wendy’s beautiful handmade crystal grid.  You will find the likes of these beauties and more at The Cottage on Sunday.  Wendy attended Kendall College of Art and Design, was trained as a product designer for Hush Puppy and she and her wife Lyza live in Grand Rapids with their cat kids – Eleanor and Theodore.

Gayle Campbell | Chakra Assessments | Card Readings

Chakra Clearing and Assessment | Oracle Readings

The Chakra system is a part of your energy field, which pulls in energy from outside; from nature, and other environmental factors including other people. Chakras also pull energy from within; from old thought patterns to current life experiences. When negative energy disrupts the normal flow of the chakras, it affects our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Gayle Campbell, Master Reiki teacher, Healer and Intuitive will scan and clear your chakras, then impart insight into changes and goals you may wish to make going forward.  Fee is $15 for 15 minutes.  Alternatively you may choose to have Gayle give you a reading from Buddhism Reading Cards. Let Gayle use her heightened perceptive abilities to discern helpful information and impart guidance by reading and moving energy, through spirit communication, and through translating the layout of cards.  Readings are $1 per minute with a 10 minute minimum.   Saturday 10a-4p |  Sun: noon – 4p | Please have cash or checks on hand for this event as payment will be made directly to Gayle.
