SUMMARY:Elderberry Elixir Pressings Are Back!
DESCRIPTION:We are SO HAPPY to offer our complimentary elixir pressings at our new location. The last time we offered pressings was in 2019 so if you’re not familiar with how the pressing event works\, read on: \nIt’s been (hopefully) at least six weeks of shaking and storing your elixir or oxymel in the cool dark and now\, it’s time to press your Elderberry elixir(s) so you can start taking it!  Whether you press it at home\, or have signed up to have it pressed for you\,  you should end up with approx 18-20 fl. ounces of herbal goodness for you to add your raw local honey to. Once you have added your own honey\, your elixir is ready to help you maintain health through cold and flu season \nNote: The pressing process will take at about 20 minutes.  To avoid backups in pressing\, please either drop your infusion off ahead to be picked up later\, or call ahead with a time slot\, unless you don’t mind the wait.   You may also press this out at home using a funnel and your tincture bag directly into the bottle you’re going to use\, or a nonreactive strainer and your tincture bag into a large bowl or measuring dish. \nWhat You Need To Bring \n\nYour wide-mouth jar with infusion\nOne muslin pressing bag for each quart.  If you don’t have one yet\, or need to purchase more\, they are available for $2.50 a piece\nA 2nd quart jar for your strained elixir\n\nWhat You’ll Leave With \n\nYour strained elderberry liquid in a 2nd clean container that you bring in\nYour original jar\, the spent herbs\, and the pressing bag\n\nWhat You’ll Do When You Get Home \n\nAdd your honey\, stir until honey is well mixed into the elixir\nLabel your jar or container\nPlease Discard your spent herbs in compost or trash.
