SUMMARY:Elderberry Elixir Pressing Day
DESCRIPTION:If you purchased an elderberry elixir kit\, and have been infusing it in alcohol or apple cider vinegar\, read on! \nIt’s been (hopefully) at least six weeks of shaking and storing your elixir or oxymel in the cool dark and now\, it’s time to press your Elderberry elixir(s) so you can start taking it!  Whether you press it at home\, or have signed up to have it pressed for you\,  you should end up with approximately 18-20 fl. ounces of herbal goodness for you to add your raw local honey to. Once you have added your own honey\, your elixir is ready to help you maintain health through cold and flu season \nNote: The pressing process will take about 20 minutes.  To avoid backups in pressing\, please call ahead for a time slot\, unless you don’t mind the wait (we don’t mind!). \nWhat You Need To Bring \n\nYour wide-mouth jar with infusion\nOne muslin pressing bag for each quart.  If you don’t have one yet\, or need to purchase more\, they are available for $2.50 a piece\nA 2nd quart jar for your strained elixir\n\nWhat You’ll Leave With \n\nYour strained elderberry liquid in a 2nd clean container that you bring in\nYour original jar\, the spent herbs\, and the pressing bag.\n\nWhat You’ll Do When You Get Home \n\nAdd your honey\, stir until honey is well mixed into the elixir\nLabel your jar or container\nPlease Discard your spent herbs in compost or trash.
