Helichrysum Hydrosol
What Are Hydrosols? Hydrosols, also known as hydrolats, plant distillates, or floral waters, are produced through the same process as essential oils. The distinction between the two products is in the chemical make-up of the end product. An essential oil contains only the aromatic oils that were originally contained in the plant itself. A hydrosol, by contrast, contains the re-condensed steam (water) used in the distillation process, and only a small percentage of the essential oil which is suspended in those waters. A number of Moondrop Herbals products contain hydrosols from a number of plants including chamomile, neroli, rose, geranium, holy basil, and helichrysum. In addition to their skin healing properties, these waters add a beautiful & subtle scent dimension to the Aroma Mists and Facial Toners, I include them in.
What It Does: Hydrosols are a great alternative to essential oils to use in skin care and with vulnerable groups such as moms-to-be, babies, children, the elderly, and pets due to their water-based therapeutic properties. Hydrosols contain light astringency and skin healing properties to soothe irritated and tired skin. Hydrosols are also known to support emotional well being just as their essential oil counterpart does.
Directions:
Use as a facial toner, refreshing spritz, and in clay facial masks. Suitable for aromatic use in emotional and spiritual work.
Bonus! This product makes a wonderful mask spritz (inside of mask) to freshen throughout the day and is safe for delicate skin, where essential oil products can be irritating and even overwhelming due to the difficulty to dilute to a safe level.

Bright Eyes Herbal Compress Blend
Combats under-eye puffiness and soothes red, tired, and irritated eyes – and gives you a reason to take a well deserved rest at the same time!
Steep approximately 3 TBS compress herbs in 20-24 ounces of just boiled water. Let steep for a minimum of 15 minutes. Filter herbs and drink 6-8 ounces of the infusion while waiting for the rest to cool to room or slightly refrigerated temperature. Herbal Steam – DeTox and DeCongest

Directions: Bring 3 cups of water to a boil. Place 2-3 tablespoons herbal mix into a medium sized bowl. Pour the just boiled water over the herbs and let steep for 15 minutes. Create a tent with a towel over your head and allow the vapors to steam your face with eyes closed. Steam for between 7 and 15 minutes. Rinse face with cool water and add a splash of after shave, toner, or moisturizer if desired.

Foot Soak Herbs
This combination of herbs is amazing and fantastical. Revives tired, overworked feet. Just try it in the spring, after your first trip out to the garden to weed – you know, when you contort your feet in any manner of bends and stretches for which there is absolutely no need any other time of the year. . . .it is magic I tell you.
Use 1/2 cup of herbs per quart of boiling water. Steep 20 minutes to 1 hour, preparing a strong infusion. Strain herbs (optional). Pour tea in foot bath container and add additional warm water to fill well above ankles and maintain water temperature of 100-110 degrees. Soak feet for minimum of 10 minutes. If cool foot bath is desired, prepare as above, let tea cool completely before straining & add to cool bath.
